Jagayyapeta:
This town is located 40 km from the famous Amaravati but on the opposite bank of the Krishna River.
A stupa on a hill here can be dated to the second century BC. It is about 45 km from Vijayawada.
History Of Jaggayyapeta:
About 180 years ago, the area around Jaggaiapeta was controlled
by a leader, by name Sri Rajah Vasireddy Venkatadri Nayudu, who was popular for
his piety and commitment and for the development of many temples in honor of Lord
Siva and Lord Vishnu. Tyagi Empire worshipped both Vishnoism & shivoism similarly,
that is why you discover both lord siva & chenna kesava swami temples in Mukteswarpuram
(Mukteswarpuram village of jaggayyapeta krishna dist).
