Bheemunipatnam
Bheemunipatnam Known as a Bhimili for short. Bheemunipatnam, the second oldest municipality in the
country, lies at the mouth of the Gostani river. The town is just 25km north of Vishakhapatnam and the road runs along the shoreline,
providing breathtaking views at many spots. Bheemili beach is considered one of the safest for swimmers and surfers as the water shallow.
Traditional facts of Buddhist Lifestyle have been observed at Bheemunipatnam since 3rd millennium BC on the hillock Pavuralakonda
(also known as Narsimhaswami konda locally) in the city. |

Pavurallakonda or Pavurallabodu
is the regional name of a mountain, generally known as Narasimhaswamykonda, near
Bhimili about 30 km from Visakhapatnam. During the course of the discovery, nearly
14-16 rock-cut troughs or cisterns were discovered hewn into the bed stone. Near
the entry of the tank were discovered two Brahmi label identities.
