Amberpet Amberpet is an Urdu/Persian name for Sky. Amberpet was largely famous for the spread-over open markets sprouted all over the area catering to the household needs of people from all the nearby places at very affordable prices. Now, these have been replaced by many supermarkets and other allied dairy & poultry establishments.
There are many irani cafes in the area. It also has a popular Hyderabadi restaurant called as Sheraton hotel which serves all the popular Hyderabadi delicacies.
In the 2009 Assembly & Parliamentary elections, Amberpet was made a separate constituency which was earlier a part of Himayathnagar constituency. There are adjoining areas also with names such as Pedda-amberpet, Bagh-amberpet, and many more.
Amberpet now boasts of Super-markets across the Main-road stretch with big names such as Spencers, Vishal Megamart, Reliance Fresh, Heritage Fresh, Magna, and many more departmental stores thronging the Main street catering to the needs of the citizens.
Amberpet is well-connected by both rail and road networks. The Hyderabad/Warangal state highway passes through Amberpet. It has the Kachiguda railway station and is in close proximity to the Mumbai-Vijaywada National Highway(NH-9). The Kachiguda Railway Station, easily located from the Amberpet road is one of the oldest of its kind built by the then ruler The Nizams in order to connect the Princely State of Hyderabad to other parts of the country introduced for the first time, Nizams Guaranteed State Railway, in 1879 itself.
The closest MMTS Train station is around a kilometer away at Kachiguda or Vidyanagar.
