History of Bonalu Festival:
The event history has began in 1813 in Hyderabad and Secuderabad. Plague disease broke out in Hyderabad around that time claiming thousands of lives. Individuals considered that the illness was caused by the anger of Mother Goddess. So people provided bonalu(Bojanalu) to Mother Goddess Mahankali.
Potharaju, the brother of Mother Goddess, is showed in the procession by a well-built, bare-bodied man, dressed in a little firmly covered red dhoti and bells on his legs, and anointed with turmeric extract on his whole body and vermilion on his forehead. He dances to resounding drums.
He always dances before the Palaharam Bandi, the procession. He is regarded the initiator of the celebrations and the guard of the group. He brings the tranced women dancers who are under magic of the Mother Goddess (known as shigam) to the temple, with lashing whips and ruby natures neem results in (margosa) linked around their waists, accompanied by trumpets and drums.

Plan the Party
FOOD
Food is one of the most important ingredients of a successful party. Since I am a marwari, Rajasthani Cuisine is a must. Continental cuisine is also recommended because a lot of people, especially from the corporate sector, enjoy it. Having three cuisines is a good idea (especially South India) as it offers a variety to the guests.
ENTERTAINMENT
During Diwali bashes, always ensure that there is one corner where you have a good DJ who plays musics. Flying down good bartenders is also a great idea.
DECOR
Festivals are also about traditions and showcasting your culture. An integral part of my parties are the Rajasthani cots (made of jute), with round pillows, for people to relax-it also gives an informal and cozy look.
BAR
The size of a bar depends on the crowd, but always ensure that the bar isn't crowded and there are enough people to serve the guests.

For a fabulous festive look
This festive season is going to be colorful, very upfront with an amalgamation of colors. The ideal look is basic, with lots of textures and derivation.
It's going to be all about colors, with salmon, green, rust and persian blue being the firm favorites.
