Moulvi Muhan’med Aziz Mirza was born in May, 1864. He was one of the first students of the Muhammaden Anglo-Oriental College, Aligarh and in 1887, he graduated with honours in English Literature and History. He was the first Muslim to obtain double honours in the North-West Frontier Province . He came to Hyderabad when Sir Asman iah was the Prime Minister and accepted the post of his personal assistant. In 1893, when the Legislative Council was formed, Aziz Mirza was appointed its secretary and subsequently held several important posts. In 1897, when Imad Jung succeeded Moulvi Ali 1-lasan as Financial Secretary, Aziz Mirza was appointed as the Secretary in charge of .Judicial, Police and General Administration.
His favourite pursuit was archaeology, numismatics and Muhammaden history and he contributed regularly to various Urdu journals and published a monograph on the famous Prime Ministers of Bahmani kings of the Deccan which was well received. He was a well- known orator
