Marmaduke Pickthal, the celebrated author of international repute, was the Principal of Chaderghat High School, Hyderabad from 1924 to 1934. He attended the Round Table Conference in London as the Secretary of the Hyderabad delegation in 1930. Pickthal also served as the Director of Information Department in the Nizam’s Government. He was closely associated with Islamic Culture magazine as an Editor. In 1933 he acted as the Controller of Nawab Salabat Jah, the younger brother of Nizam VII. He was also in charge of the l-Iyderabad Civil Service House. His translation of the Holy Koran, Common Edition “The Glorious Koran”, is well known. |
