Lingampally is a suburb near
Hyderabad in India. It was a sleepy village until the IT boom has made it into a
preferred, affordable residential suburb for IT professionals.It is 5 km from the
HITECH city. It is very close to the BHARAT HEAVY ELECTRICALS LIMITED (BHEL) Ramachandrapuram
unit and is also is located close to the National Highway 9 leading to Mumbai. Indian
Immunologicals (Serum and Vaccine unit), SBIRD (State Bank Institute for Rural Development),
IIIT Hyderabad are in Gachibowli area just 4 to 5 km away from Lingampally Railway
station and can easily be reached hiring an autorickshaw or a bus.
Lingampally has a MMTS train station, where the train concludes it
journey coming from Hyderabad & Falaknuma/Secunderabad. Recently a lot of development
has been seen at Lingampally Railway station as it is the terminal station for MMTS
trains. This is one of the reasons for more and more people opting to live in this
suburb. The state-owned APSRTC runs the city bus service, connecting to all the
major centres of the city. Few of the Bus numbers that ply through Lingampally are
216, 217, 218, 219, 226L, 226, 222, 225.
